Okay, so here's a question for all the literary buffs in the audience: What are your top five favorite books? [Clarification: For everyone's sake, we'll assume the Bible is number one, so top five after that. :-) ]

I like seeing all these Ted Dekker fans :)
these are in no particular order as i can't decide...
1. The Great Divorce CS Lewis
2.The Trilogy Black Red White Ted Dekker
3. Screwtape Letters CS Lewis
4. Mark of the Lion Series by Francine Rivers
5. Redeeming Love --Francine Rivers
Okay, this is really hard. How can we possibly narrow it down to just five? Here are a few that come to mind . . . Reforming Fundamentalism (George Marsden), The Art of Biblical Narrative (Robert Alter), Exegetical Fallacies (D.A. Carson), Hudson Taylor's bio., Jane Eyre (Charlotte Bronte) & Uncle Tom's Cabin (Harriet Beecher Stowe).
so where's you list MWH?
...I'm getting there Tim...I just didn't want to dominate the blogosphere... :-)
I'm with Lisa, I can't choose a particular order, and I'm probably forgetting some that I really like, but here are a few worth reading (and rereading...):
The Great Gatsby - F. Scott Fitzgerald -a great read, and one of the few books I've read multiple times. High on my list; best among novels.
The Lord of the Flies - William Golding - Gruesome, but excellent. A great picture of the depravity of man (even in small boys). Read with caution.
Katie stole Exegetical Fallacies (D. A. Carson), but that's one of my tops as well.
The Man Born to Be King (Dorothy Sayers) is a must read for all Christians. If you like C. S. Lewis, you'll like this play about the life of Christ. In fact, there are connections between Lewis and Sayers. You can read about them at the Wade Center at Wheaton.

We should consider as a youth group acting out certain scenes from this play. Excellent, Excellent!!
The Suffering Savior: Meditations on the Last Days of Christ by F. W. Krummacher - Devotional, pious, heart stirring.
Oh, there are more, but I won't clog up the blog with them. Sorry folks, none of that Red-White-and-Blue, Deck-the-Halls stuff. :-)
